Car Maintenance Tips

Car maintenance tips to save energy with less trips to the mechanic and spend less money on gas.

  • Regular engine tune ups! Things like your brakes dragging and worn spark plugs will eat more gas.
  • Inflate those tires! Keep the right air pressure in the tires and properly aligned. Your mpg will improve by 3.3%.
  • Clogged air filters need to be replaced immediately. Clean ones increase your mpg by 10%!
  • Proper motor oil recommended by the manufacturer is better for your car than what they try to sell you at Jiffy Lube.
  • At red lights shift your automatic car to neutral and it will save the engine.
  • Wash your car even in the winter! It will get rid of the road salt that corrodes your baby.
